Levy impacts tourists, investors

The State Government's recently announced 7.5 per cent levy on short-stay properties will not only impact tourists, but will hurt "mum and dad investors," according to Warragul property owner Brian Brewer.

The government will begin charging a 7.5 per cent levy on revenue collected from short-stay accommodation providers like Airbnb and Stayz from January 1, 2025.
The short-stay levy was introduced as part of Victoria's recent housing statement which focused on improving the supply of housing throughout the state.
