Girls' Day Out shines bright to $135,000

The theme for this year's A Girls' Day Out was "Permission to Shine" and shine they did, raising $135,000 for local breast cancer support.
There was plenty of satin, sequins and overloads of generosity when almost 700 women supported the annual event at Lardner Park on Saturday afternoon.
A hardworking locally based committee delivered the spectacular event with all proceeds raised benefitting the West Gippsland Hospital's oncology department and local breast care nurses.
While it was as much a celebration of life for survivors, the day also was a time of reflection for women to share their breast cancer journeys.
