The Gippsland Red Meat Conference is back for 2025 with the theme of: Now. Next. Later.
Agriculture Victoria agriculture services director Kate Linden said the theme encouraged farmers to ask themselves when it comes to making improvements on their farm or in their business: what can I do now? what can I do next? And what can I do later?
"Agriculture Victoria is proud to partner with Gippsland Agricultural Group for this event that brings the red meat industry together to discuss topics important to them.
"The program is packed with leading industry speakers covering the topics that matter most to the farming community, including livestock markets, methane reduction, sheep production, optimising the success of heifers, sustaining a profitable red meat business and much more.
"From cutting-edge innovations to practical tools for success, attendees will leave with actionable insights, inspiration, and innovation,' Mrs Linden said.
Guest speakers include:
Simon Quilty from Global Agri Trends and Robert Herrmann from Mecardo
Professor Richard Eckard from Melbourne University
Nathan Scott from Achieve Ag Solutions
Dr Enoch Bergman from Swans Vet
Kathy Gabriel with her story 'From the High Country to Mongolia'
Ben Young from Chiltern Park Angus
Ken White, Chris Jehu and Micheal Croatto from Business of Farming
Dee Commins, Deanne Sykes and Jess Knight with 'I'm a farmer too' highlighting the role women play in agriculture
Alfred Hackett and Amy Rogers with a virtual farm tour of their property in Gelantipy.
Organisers of the Gippsland Red Meat Conference reacted to feedback from previous conferences where producer attendees requested hearing from respected other producers. Ben Young is one of the speakers who will share his story at the conference.
The key to his business operation involves planning, and ensuring his staff are on the same journey that he is undertaking.
The 2025 Gippsland Red Meat Conference will be held next Tuesday, February 18 at the Riviera Convention Centre, Bairnsdale.
Tickets are available on humanitix or find the link and program on the Gippsland Red Meat Conference Facebook page or the Gippsland Agricultural group website.
