Nilma Primary School students had the opportunity to meet and thank local first responders on Wednesday for Thank a First Responder Day.
Members of the Warragul SES, Nilma North CFA, Warragul Police and Ambulance Victoria Warragul branch visited the school for a question and answer session with students. With the help of their teachers, students developed a series of questions to ask the first responders, including questions about the type of equipment they used, the emergencies they respond to, how they got their jobs and the type of training they did.
The session was followed by a "thank you" presentation and morning tea.
The students also had the chance to learn about different emergency service vehicles and protective clothing and equipment.
