Yarragon Primary School recently unveiled a new adventure playground - a project that has been four years in the making.
Principal Melissa Rock said students from prep to year six had had input into the project and the whole school was excited for the new facility.
The project cost was more than $200,000 and was funded by the school community.
"Our parents and friends group and entire school community have worked together to raise the money for this exciting new playground," Ms Rock said.
Senior students contributed to the design of the playground after investigating a number of safe play designs. Melissa said the design was meant to be safe but at the same time challenging for all age groups.
"The students helping with the design were aware of the need for a space where kids of all ages could play together."
Some of the features of the new playground include a large tower for students to climb in with a double slide coming out of it. Climbing ropes and courses also are a feature.
A Yarning circle also features in the playground and is a space for students to sit, talk and learn while paying tribute to the indigenous community.
The playground utilised existing gaga and sand pits. With room to expand it is hoped one day that the school may be able to add existing equipment to the playground.
