Finding a friend in buddy program

Students from prep to year three at the new Drouin campus of St Paul's Anglican Grammar School have been enjoying visits from their older buddies from the Warragul campus during term one.
The program pairs a new Drouin campus student with a year five "buddy" from Warragul - giving both students a chance to form connections across the campuses.
For the younger students, the buddy program aims to help them build confidence and a special friendship with someone they can look up to.
For the year five students, the program provided them the opportunity to personalise their learning experience by growing as role models and developing their leadership skills.
Maanvi Chepuri from year five has loved building a connection with her buddy. "My favourite thing about being part of the buddy program is meeting new people, discovering their interests, their personality and overall, who they are."
Layla McMahon said that she was enjoying the experience. "Being a buddy has taught me how to be responsible and a good leader. Having a buddy is such a privilege and I am so thankful!"
Angus Deans said "having a buddy allows us to bond with other kids and become someone that they can rely on and someone they can trust."
