Over 120 students at Darnum Primary School wore a bandana or dressed up to raise money for CanTeen, a charity for young people with cancer.
Held on Thursday, October 30 the children wore pre-purchased bandanas ($4) and can dress up and take part in a fancy dress parade that requires a gold coin donation to participate. The students raised $830 for CanTeen.
Each year the school holds the event and it is run by the school captains. this year’s captains; Ruby Davie, Lisa Straatman, Hunter Dowel and Max Davidson had spoken at assemblies in the weeks leading up to the day to emphasise what the day means and to give background information on CanTeen. The captains sold bandanas at school and were successful in making the day enjoyable for all that attended.
