Court lights to boost netball participation

A youth netball association is hoping the lighting of four courts at Drouin could revitalise its competition.
Drouin Netball Club announced it had been awarded a grant of more than $200,000 to light the bottom courts at the Drouin Recreation Reserve last week. It follows hot on the heels of a Baw Baw Shire allocation within its 2025/26 budget to resurface the two top courts at the reserve.
Kate Butler, the club member behind the grant applications, said the two projects would increase the quality and safety of the courts and ultimately boost participation.
"We consider this a big win for the club and for netball in our community," Ms Butler said. "To say we are thrilled is an understatement."
