Phil Henshall at Red Tree Gallery

A new exhibition of work by local artist Phil Henshall will open at the Red Tree Gallery in Jindivick on Saturday.
The eight large paintings in the exhibition share a Gippsland focused theme, from local wildlife to local landmarks.
"I haven't shown locally in a number of years, so (the exhibition) is mainly subject matter that might have an appeal to locals," Phil said.
One of the main pieces in the exhibition is titled "Baw Baw Basin."
The large oil on canvas depicts the Strzelecki and Baw Baw mountain ranges and the fertile farmland in the middle.
"It's (the painting) an understanding of the relationship between the Strzeleckis and the Baw Baws and how the shire is nestled in the middle of them," Phil explained.
Three large pieces in the exhibition explore the impact of climate change on the region.
Dubbed the "Climate Trilogy", the names of each artwork are inspired by the lyrics of Pete Seeger's song "Where Have All The Flowers Gone?".
In the pieces, Phil reflects on his unwitting contributions to climate change throughout his life.
Phil's exhibition will be on display at the Red Tree Gallery in Jindivick until Wednesday July 30.
An exhibition opening event will be held at the gallery this Saturday between 2pm and 4pm.
