Lyn Bowtell performs at Nooj
2 min read

Australian country artist Lyn Bowtell will perform at the Noojee Hotel this Saturday night as part of her Paper Cuts album tour.
Having debuted at number one on the ARIA Australian Country Music Albums Chart, number seven on the ARIA Country Albums Chart and number 16 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart, "Paper Cuts" is one of the most personal and ambitious project of Lyn's career.
What began in late 2023 with six songs laid down in the studio grew into a collection of 11, completed in early 2025. It also marked her first time in the production seat, stepping up to co-produce with long-time partner and collaborator Damon Morton.
The album touches on some heavy topics, particularly the song "Scene of the Crime" which is drawn from Lyn's own lived experience of domestic violence, coercive control and alcoholism.
"That song was not something I intended to write, it was something that just happened," Lyn explained.
"I think that when you do take on topics like domestic violence, it is a very vulnerable state to be in, especially when you're a survivor of it yourself. However it's talking about these things that bring us together. Unfortunately, the statistics are so scary that it touches everybody; everyone has been affected in some way either directly or indirectly."
Lyn said she's looking forward to returning to the Noojee Hotel to perform alongside 2023 New Songwriter of the Year, Felicity Dowd.
"I've done a few shows in Noojee before, the Nooj hotel is just such an iconic venue," Lyn said.
"It's such a beautiful part of the world. It's nice to play in the city and all those things, but I think regional touring and being around those beautiful towns that have such a soul and a heart to them, you just find that you make more connections that way."
Lyn said she hoped her performance would take audience members "away from the reality of life for a couple hours".
"One of my favorite things is getting people to sing along, dance along, have a good time, but I also, don't mind making them cry at the same time!" she said.
Lyn Bowtell will perform her Paper Cuts album tour at the Noojee on Saturday October 25 from 7:30pm to 10pm.
