The ninth annual Moartz Open Studios Latrobe event will be held over the October 26 and 27 weekend, providing the opportunity to take a self-guided tour through local studios while artists demonstrate their creative talents.
Demonstrations and displays will take place across the Latrobe Valley, including locations in Moe, Tanjil South, Morwell, Traralgon, Yinnar and Boolarra.
New artists are set to join the Open Studios line up as well as some old favourites returning after a hiatus period. Their work spans a variety of mediums including printmaking, airbrush, watercolour, acrylics, photography, textiles, drawing and pottery.
For only $5 per person visitors can attend all the open studios over the weekend. Children can participate free of charge. The self-guided tour can be started at any open studio. As part of the event, the artist run space ARC Yinnar will have local and visiting artists demonstrating different techniques. The ARC will also have two new exhibitions on display and the The Matchbox Gallery in Yinnar also will have interesting exhibitions to visit.
