A touch of Spain in Warragul
1 min read

For one of the final shows of 2023, Wesley of Warragul will host Paco Lara for his performance of "The Andalusian Guitar Show" on Friday November 10.
The distinguished Spanish flamenco guitarist performs with the characteristic and unmistakable sound of "toque", hailing from the city of Jerez in southern Spain.
Toque comes from the Spanish word tocar, referring to how flamenco guitarists touch or hit the guitar while they play, a key characteristic of the genre.
"The Andalusian Guitar Show" features hints of traditional flamenco and music from Paco's album "The Andalusian Guitar".
Paco will also perform some of the greatest guitar classics of all time from composers including Paco de Lucía and Joaquín Rodrigo.
In a nod to his adopted home, Paco also will perform "Waltzing Matilda" in flamenco style.
Joining him for his performance at Wesley is Paco's talented ensemble, including Alejandro Florez on second guitar, and guest flamenco dancer Aya Kitaoji.
Based in Spain for over 30 years, Paco's career has taken him to stages across Europe and Latin America. He has performed with legendary flamenco guitarists like Paco Cepero and renowned dancers including Mercedes Ruiz and singer Isabel Pantoja.
Relocating to Australia with his family in 2017, Paco now calls Australia home.
Experiencing flamenco dance and music first hand is a rare experience, so audiences should act fast to secure their tickets and prepare to be transported to southern Spain.
Paco Lara will perform "The Andalusian Guitar Show" at the Wesley of Warragul on Friday November 10 from 7pm.
